BCL activists beat up students at CU

A section of activists of BangladeshChhatra League (BCL) allegedly beats up two residential students of Sir F Rahman Hall of Chittagong University (CU) demanding to take illegal possession of hall’s seat on Friday.
The victims are identified as EmdadulHaque, a student of Department of Economics under 2012-2013 session and FahimHasan of Communication and Journalism Department of the same session. The alleged BCL activists are known as the followers of Abu Sayeed, former Joint Secretary of CU BCL.
According to witnesses, EmdadulHuq has stayed in the room number 401 as a residential student for a long time.He is preparing himself to leave the room as his Master’s exam has already finished. The hall authority has already allotted the room to Rabiul Islam, another residential student of the hall. But the BCL activists went to grab illegally the room and beat Emdadul Haq in his room on Friday. On hearing the news, his friend FahimHasan was trying to inform CU proctor. In the meantime, the BCL activists beat him up in front of the hall.
Though it is not possible to contact Emdadul Haq about this, his classmate Fahim Hasan said that BCL activists beat up us without any reason.
 We orally informed the incident to Proctor as Saturday is his day off .We will lodge written complaint to proctor office in this regard.
The former joint secretary ofCU BCL Abu Sayeed said, “I knew the matter at around 9 pm. We are trying to solve the problem with due diligence.
Contracted, Proctor Professor Ali AsgarChowdhury said, “I heard the matter of beatings. Action will be taken against the accused after investigations.
