A group of activists of Bangladesh Chattra League Chittagong University chapter yesterday allegedly beat up a student for his alleged involvement in social media. The victim was identified as Yeakub Rasel, a master’s student of mass communication and journalism department of CU , and 8th best comedy actor of Kolkata-based popular comedy show Mirakkal Akkel .
The BCL activists are known as the follower of Mansur Alam,Senior Vice-President of CU BCL suspended committee.
BCL men alleged that Resel Put a status insulting Prime Minister as “Hasi na” on his facebook. BCL men protested him. CU medical center duty doctor Shuvashish Chowdhury Shuvo said:”Yakub Rasel was seriously injured. After Primary treatment he was sent to Chittagong Medical College (CMCH) Hospital”.
Confirming the matter, Mansour Alam, Senior Vice-President of CU BCL suspended committee said;”BCL activists protested Yakub Russell who gave status insulting Prime Minister . We have screenshots. “
Contracted, CU Assistant Proctor Liton Mitra said, “We have heard the matter. Action will be taken after the written complaint is received.
