An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was hacked to death allegedly by some activists of the organisation he belonged to in the city on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Quazi Habib, an activist of the city unit of BCL.
Habib was a 4th year student of Sylhet International University. Sources at the city unit BCL said Habib was a supporter of Tushar, general secretary of the unit.
A few days back, he left the group and joined Telihawar group, another faction of the unit. Later on Tuesday some BCL activists swooped on Habib on the campus and hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons around 11am, leaving him seriously injured.
