Barisal City Corporation on Wednesday has started week-long ‘cleaning the city ‘ programme.
BCC Mayor Ahsan Habib Kamal inaugurated the program leading a procession from Nagor Bhavan ended in a short rally in front of Barisal Ashwini Kumar Hall in morning.
Among other KM Shahidullah, BCC panel mayor, Shahidul Alam, deputy commissioner, Abdur Rouf, deputy commissioner Metropolitan Police, Nikhil Chandra Das, chief executive officer BCC, addressed the inaugural session of the programme.
The speakers urged the citizens to help BCC for maintaining the city clean.
They also urged the people to take self initiatives for living under a healthy, neat and clean environment free from different types of diseases and pollutions.
