Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will continue to provide financial support for the development of the country’s hockey.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon came up with the disclosure while talking to reporters after the first semifinal of the Beximco 4th Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey between hosts Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
The BCB boss, who went to the stadium to witness the semifinal as an invited guest, said the BCB will always stand by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF). “We’ll provide financial support to the federation in future,” he said.
Replying to a query, Papon said, “The overall arrangement of this tournament is good so far. I hope the hockey federation will arrange more tournaments like this in future.”
Earlier, BCB had committed to provide financial support for the development of Bangladesh Hockey and as well as to bear the entire expenses of a foreign coach for the national team for three years
