Opener Soumya Sarkar continued his prolific form as the two-day practice match between Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI and visiting West Indies ended in a draw at M A Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on Monday.
The left handed opener scored 78-run off 103-ball laced with ten boundaries and three over boundaries and during the process he also shared 126-run opening stand with Shadman Shakib who contributed 73-run off 169-ball laced with ten boundaries and one over boundary after Bangladesh stared their first innings on the second day and scored 232 for 5 at stumps.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto (21) and Zakir Hossain (18) were the other notable scorers for BCB XI.
Mohammad Mithun was remained unbeaten with 27 runs as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Shannon Gabriel was the pick of West Indies bowler as he claimed two BCB XI’s wickets conceding 24 runs.
Earlier, on the day, West Indies, rode on Kieran Powell and Shai Hope’s magnificent half centuries, declared their first innings at 303 for 7.
Shai Hope composed a brilliant 88 runs off 112-balls laced with 10 boundaries and three over boundaries before being retired hurt while left hand batsman Kiran Powell supported with 72-runoff 142-ball that studded with six boundaries and one over boundary, after the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first.
Nayeem Hasan was the pick of Bangladesh bowler as he claimed two wickets conceding 104 runs.
Besides, Soumya Sarkar, Fazle Mahmud, Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain took one wicket each conceding 10,11,23 and 40 runs respectively.
