The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is waiting for the confirmation from Neil McKenzie for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour. McKenzie, the batting consultant of Bangladesh is not interested to tour Sri Lanka with Bangladesh Cricket team due to family reason. Bangladesh will tour Sri Lanka to play three-match Test series against Sri Lanka from October 24.
Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of BCB Akram Khan said to the newsmen, “Our batting consultant Neil McKenzie has not yet confirmed to us if he will join the side in the Sri Lanka tour. We will be contacting him and in 2-3 days we will be able to know if he is able to join or not. And even if he can not join Bangladesh on the Sri Lanka tour, we still have a few options in our hand.”
McKenzie is the expert of white-ball batting consultant for Bangladesh Cricket team but had accompanied the team during last year’s tour of India on the board’s request. If
McKenzie will not tour Sri Lanka, the former player of New Zealand and coach Craig McMillan may be the replacement of McKenzie as a batting consultant for the Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh Cricket team.
