BCB urges BCCI to change venue

In a new development Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon informed the reporters that his board has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider Dehradun as the venue for the upcoming bilateral series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to take place in June.
Hill Station Dehradun is located 236 kilometres north of Indian capital New Delhi.
The BCB boss said that they have asked to reconsider the venue and location as his team will be touring West Indies for a full tour after the Afghanistan series.
Therefore if the venue is convenient for travelling it would be good for the players.
He further added saying that Dehradun was but BCB was looking for a convenient venue and it would be better if the series can be held in Kolkata or Bangalore.
He also shared with the sports scribes that former South African batsman Gary Kirsten has agreed to work with Bangladesh but his role will be discussed as most of the leading coaches are involved with IPL, Big Bash and other T20 tourneys.
The BCB president also expressed his satisfaction over bowling coach Courtney Walsh and praised his performance as the interim head coach during the Nidahas Trophy.
