Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send Bangladesh Men’s Cricket team and Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team to Incheon of South Korea. The Men’s Cricket team and the Women’s Cricket team will take part in the Cricket Competition of Asian Games scheduled to be held from September 19 to October 4.
BCB announced on Sunday last the 20-member Women’s Cricket team but BCB has not yet announced the Men’s Cricket team.
Chief Selector of BCB Faruque Ahmed said, “Mushfiqur Rahim cannot go to South Korea for his wedding party. Country’s best pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the Men’s Cricket team instead of Mushfiqur Rahim during the cricket meet.”
India and Pakistan will not take part in the Men’s Division. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, South Korea will take part in the cricket competition for men.
Earlier, Bangladesh Men’s Cricket team clinched the gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games held at the Guangdong province of China.
Though India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka did not participate in the Men’s Division.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team gained silver medal as they lost to their counterpart Pakistan in the final in the last Asian Games held at Guangdong of China.
