Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send a full-strength national squad to India to play a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan in next June.
Chief selector of Bangladesh Cricket team Minhajul Abedin Nannu declared the BCB’s intent while talking to the press at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Replying to a query about team’s formation and chance of inclusion of any new faces in the Bangladesh team against Afghanistan, Nannu said, “As per last update, our team no longer injury problem, we will get our maximum players by next three weeks, so, we do hope we are able to send our main team to India”
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Nasir Hossain are currently suffering from injury problems, but these are not expected to be long-lasting, allowing them to recover before beginning the national camp for India.
Afghanistan are enjoying an upper-hand over Bangladesh, at least in the ICC’s T20 rankings. They are placed 9th with 88 points while Bangladesh are 10th with 77 points.
