Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will reduce the punishment of banned cricketer Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for six months for all sorts of cricket competitions. Besides, Shakib Al Hasan will not get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from BCB to take part in the international cricket tournaments like IPL, CPL, County Cricket Championship for one and half years. The Board Meeting of BCB Directors took this decision on July 7. BCB has suspended Shakib Al Hasan as he breached the code of conduct.
However, the left-hand ace all-rounder has been taking part in the practice session alone for one month at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh National Cricket team are touring West Indies and tasted two consecutive defeats to West Indies in two ODI matches.
Shakib Al Hasan appealed to BCB to reconsider his punishment on July 20. President of BCB Nazmul Hassan Papon assured him that BCB would reconsider his punishment.
The Board Meeting of BCB Directors will be held soon. ‘The fate of the prolific all-rounder will be decided in that meeting’, said a BCB source to this correspondent on Monday.
He hinted that Shakib’s punishment might be reduced three months. Thus Shakib Al Hasan will take part in the October-November Cricket series against Zimbabwe.
Besides, the brilliant all-rounder can take part in the upcoming Premier Division Cricket League, the most prestigious domestic cricket competition of the country.
