A noble gesture from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was lauded by sports fraternity as they has decided to allocate Taka one crore to Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) for development of the sport, a BSF official said on Monday.
“We have been informed about the monetary package from the BCB yesterday (Monday).
The amount of Taka one crore will boost our ongoing talent hunt programme and help us organise national swimming championship and coaches’ training programme which will start from December 7,” BSF general secretary Rafiz Uddin said to reporters.
The BCB had earlier announced to donate the same amount to Bangladesh Hockey Federation and also announced to provide funds for Dhaka Divisional Sports Association.
