BCB NZ reach final beating Walton CZ by 51 runs

BCB North Zone reached the final of the 2nd Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) dethroning Walton Central Zone by 51 runs on the fourth and final day of the first class domestic cricket at BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Tuesday.
BCB North Zone will take on Prime Bank South Zone in the five-day match final on May 9 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur in the city.
Earlier, on the third day of the meet, Prime Bank South Zone confirmed their final berth beating Islami Bank East Zone by 6 wickets at BKSP ground-4.
In the day’s match, Walton CZ resumed (278 runs in the first innings) the second innings with overnight 1 run and was dismissed for 215 runs in 54 overs.
Nightwatch batsman Elias Sunny scored 60 runs off 88 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Shamsur Rahman(36), Nurul Hasan(28), Asif Ahmed(23), Mahmudullah(17), Rony Talukdar(17) and Sharif not out (15) were the other two digit scorers for Walton CZ.
Taijul Islam claimed (5/89 in the 2nd innings) 4 wickets for 89 runs while Shuvashis Roy captured 3 wickets for 25 runs and Sanjamul Islam took 2 wickets conceding 43 runs on the fourth day on Tuesday.
Taijul Islam of BCB NZ claimed 6 wickets for 88 runs in the first innings and 5 wickets for 89 runs in the 2nd innings to earn man -of-the-match award.
