The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is interested to appoint a batting coach for Bangladesh Cricket team for three formats (Test, ODI, T20I) of cricket.
The post of the batting coach of Bangladesh Cricket team became vacant after Neil McKenzie was stepped down recently. McKenzie, the former batting coach of Bangladesh team resigned for family reasons.
Chairman of Cricket Operations Committee of BCB Akram Khan said, “We have been looking for a batting coach after McKenzie has given his resignation letter.”
Akram Khan said, “Three or four names have been come. We will appoint one who will be good for Bangladesh’s cricket. Since we have time, we will take decisions carefully. Hopefully we’ll reach a concrete solution very soon but one thing is sure that we are thinking to strike a long term deal with the coach and for all formats of cricket.”
Neil McKenzie, the South African born coach, who joined the Bangladesh team during the side’s West Indies tour in July 2016, was initially signed by the BCB for white ball cricket until the 2019 World Cup.
