Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently sent an invitation letter to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to play of a number of bilateral ODIs in Bangladesh after the World Twenty20, 2016.
In that invitation letter BCB also invited Sri Lankan Cricket for one or two Test matches, if possible, BCB director Sheikh Sohail confirmed this on Tuesday while talking to journalists at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
“They (Sri Lanka) are yet to give any feedback, but we are hopeful about hosting the series after the World T20 this year,” he said.
BCB took this initiative for arranging more ODIs for Bangladesh in 2016 as there are some empty slots for Bangladesh following the ICC World T20.
The Tigers have no ODI to play until October when they will host the English at home.
