The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included Soumya Sarkar in the Test squad of Bangladesh for the upcoming Test match against West Indies. Soumya Sarkar will be the replacement of injured Shakib Al Hasan. A BCB press release confirmed this matter on Tuesday night. The left-hander, who has a hundred and four half centuries in 15 Tests, will join the squad’s training today. Shakib was ruled out after failing to recover from an injury sustained during the first of the two ICC World Test Championship matches against the West Indies, at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The second Test between Bangladesh and West Indies will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from 11th February. West Indies lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test by three wickets.
