Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team Shane Jurgensen submitted his resignation recently. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) accepted his resignation on Monday last. BCB also formed a five-member committee to hunt a coach for Bangladesh National Cricket team. The members of the committee are : BCB Directors Mahbubul Anam, Jalal Yunus, Akram Khan, Naimur Rahman Durjoy and Khaled Mahmud Sujan. The India series will be held in June 2014. Besides, the ICC World Cup 2015 will be held next year. So, the committee has not enough time. The committee will find out a coach as soon as possible.
Akram Khan said to a website, “We want to the best for our country. We are seeking bowling coach as well as batting coach. Especially, our target is a batting coach. We have not yet selected the coach. If we do not get any foreign coach, we shall fulfill the vacant post by a local coach.”
Khan said, “We shall try our level best to find out a coach before the home series against India. We have discussed with six or seven coaches.”
Khaled Mahmud Sujan said, “Our committee’s target is to find out a good coach as early as possible. But we have not yet taken part in any meeting.
We shall discuss soon and make a list. Then the coach, whose profile will be best, will be appointed the coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team.”
