BCB HP Team off to good start in Australia tour

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance (HP) Squad got off to a good start in the Australia tour beating Northern Territory Invitational Eleven by one wicket in the first match of the five-match one-day series at the Marrara Cricket Ground-1 in Darwin on Wednesday.
Sent in to bat first, hosts Northern Territory Eleven scored 189 for 7 in stipulated 50 overs featuring 54 runs in the 3rd wicket stand.
After the departure of two openers — H Martin (2) and J Doyce (24) — for 60 runs, one down A Gregory pairing with two down J Dickman guided the team to a respectable position scoring 54 runs in the 3rd wicket stand.
J Dickman hammered a polished 73 runs off 78 balls featuring seven boundaries while A Gregory contributed a patient 77-ball 42 runs with the help of three boundaries.
S Dick was the other hosts batsman reaching the double figure with 39-ball 14 runs.
Abul Hasan Raju grabbed two wickets for 34 runs while Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Hyder Rony, Jubair Hossain and Abu Jayed Chowdury Rahi took one wicket each.
In reply, BCB HP Team scored the match-winner 190 for the loss of nine wickets in 49.3 overs with number seven batsman Abu Hyder Rony contributing an unconquered 51 runs off 83 balls hitting four boundaries.
Besides, captain-cum-opening batsman Liton Kumar Das scored 31-ball 41 runs with four fours and a six, Abul Hasan Raju made a patient 58-ball 31 runs with two fours while another opener Anamul Haque Bijoy made 29-ball 20 runs with a boundary.
H Martin captured three wickets for 34 runs while A Gregory took two wickets conceding 35 runs.
The touring BCB HP team will play the remaining four one-day matches against the same team on July 6, 7, 9 and 11 respectively, all at the Marrara Cricket Ground-1.
 Besides, BCB HP Squad will play one three-day match against a local selection on July 13-15 at the same ground.
