Delaying the treatment of Shakib Al Hasan’s injured little finger has worsen the condition and now he is under threat of not being fully recovered from the ill effects of the wound.
According to reports revealed in the meantime, it has been said that Shakib Al Hasan’s left little finger might not fall into the perfect shape even after surgery hence concerns are also floating whether Bangladesh could ever find Shakib the way he used to be.
Head of BCB Cricket Operations’ Committee Chairman Akram Khan rejected any such speculations therefore expressed high hopes regarding Shakib’s future fitness regime.
“The way he played with pain over the last several months proved he is a great fighter. Many big names of world cricket left playing once fallen into injury – Mashrafe never did that and Shakib also have that spirit,” said Akram Khan.
“I know Shakib will keep up performing against all odds. The most important thing is how you mentally handle the situation. They are really strong guys. Shakib will come back with strength,” he said.
Akram Khan also informed that the board inquired national team’s physiotherapist Thilan Chandramohon why he failed to notice the spreading of infection in Shakib’s hand.
“We are going to seat with the physio. He (physiotherapist) should inform us earlier about the condition of Shakib’s injury. He (Shakib) played the Asia Cup under risks but we did not know the extent. It was rather scary when we watch his hand later. Injuries are part of the game. We will definitely do our best to protect cricketers from all troubles. Now let’s see what to could be done once the surgery was done,” Akram Khan said.
