BCB honours Shamim Kabir for one last time

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) honoured late Shamim Kabir, the first-ever captain of Bangladesh cricket team, for one last time on Thursday at the National Academy Ground.
 The first namaz-e-janaza of the departed soul was held the Academy Ground at 11am. After that, the entire cricket fraternity of Bangladesh honoured him with flowers.
 Several former national team captains were present in the janaza. Shafiqul Haque Heera, Roqibul Hasan, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Minhazul Abedin, and Akram Khan were amongst them. From the current cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nayeem Islam and Nasir Hossain were also present. At the same time, BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, board director Jalal Younus, Ahmed Sazzadul Alam and Ismail Haider Mallick were also there. Apart from them, cricket coach Obaydul Gani and former journalist and cricket coach Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury also attended the janaza.
 BCB, Bangladesh Olympic Association, former captains, Bangladesh Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association, Daily Sangbad and CCDM honoured the departed soul of Shamim Kabir with flowers.
 After another namaz-e-janza at Gulshan, Shamim Kabir’s body will be carried to his home town Ghorashal where he will be buried in his family graveyard.
