BCB grants Shakib’s leave

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) granted Shakib Al Hasan’s leave on Thursday last. Shakib will not take part in the upcoming Bangladesh’s tour in New Zealand. Shakib Al Hasan will stay beside his wife as his wife is pregnant and the birth of her child is imminent.
Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of the BCB Akram Khan said to the newsmen, “Shakib put his letter to BCB for leave. We hope Shakib will back with the team after the ensuing New Zealand series. We discussed about the leave of Shakib with BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon and he granted him leave.”
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan cannot take part in the forthcoming three-match ODI series and three-match T20I series in New Zealand in March and April. The Tigers will take part in a training camp before taking part in the New Zealand series.
Best ODI all-rounder of world cricket Shakib Al Hasan got a groin injury in the first Test against the touring West Indies at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Shakib could not play in the second innings of that Test due to injury. Later, Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out from the ongoing first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur. Soumya Sarkar has been replacement of injured Shakib.
