BCB election: Papon, Sujon re-elected

The election to the Directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was held in the BCB’s office room of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday. The Directors have been elected for four years term.
Incumbent President and councilor of Dhaka Abahani Limited Nazmul Hassan Papon, Gazi Golam Mortaza of Gazi Group Cricketers and Enayet Hossain Siraj of Azad Sporting Club have been elected Directors getting highest 53 votes. They were the candidates from Category-2.
The Directors of the Category-2 were elected by 57 representatives of the clubs of Dhaka. The other elected Directors from this category, are : Najib Ahmed (Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club), Mahbub Anam (Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club), Obed Rashid Nizam (Shinepukur Cricket Club), Salahuddin Chowdhury (Kakrail Boys Club), Ismail Haider Mallick (Sheikh Jamal Cricketers), Fahim Sinha (Surjo Tarun Club), Iftekhar Rahman (Fair Fighters Sporting Club), Monjur Kader (Dhaka Assets) and Monjur Alam (Asif Shifa Cricket Avademy).
Saiful Alam Shawpan Chowdhury has been elected Director from Category-1 (Rajshahi Division).
Naimur Rahman Durjoy of Manikganj district and Tanvir Ahmed of Narayanganj district have been elected from Dhaka Division (Category-1).
Khaled Mahmud Sujon has been elected from Category-3.
Besides, Akram Khan and AJM Nasir Uddin (Chattogram Division), Sheikh Sohel and Kazi Inam Ahmed (Khulna Division), Shafiul Alam Chowdhury (Sylhet Division), Alamgir Khan (Barishal Division), Anwarul Islam (Rangpur Division) have been unopposed elected Directors of BCB.
Jalal Yunus and Ahmed Sazzadul Alam Bobby have been elected Directors from the quota of National Sports Council (NSC).
The President of the BCB will be elected from among the 25 Directors. There is a chance for Nazmul Hassan Papon to be re-elected President of the BCB.
