BCB announces Test squad for Afghanistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Friday the 15-member Bangladesh Cricket squad for the lone Test match against Afghanistan. The Test match will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chattogram from September 5 to September 9.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been dropped from the squad. Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed has been called in the squad. Shadman Islam will open the innings with Soumya Sarkar. Tamim Iqbal cannot take part in the Test. He will be taking rest during the Test match.
Mosaddek Hossain has been included in the squad to strengthen the spin department.
Experienced opener Imrul Kayes has not been included in the team. Khaled Ahmed has been axed from the squad.
The players, who have been chosen, are: Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Mohammad Mithun, Liton Kumar, Mahmudullah Riyad, Shadman Islam, Abu Jayed, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Naeem Hasan, Ebadat Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Taskin Ahmed and Soumya Sarkar.
