BCB announces 16-member BD squad for Lanka series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Sunday the 16-member Bangladesh squad for the upcoming two-Test match series against Sri Lanka. Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out due to injury. Pacer Abu Jayed and opener Shadman Islam have been dropped from the squad. Right-arm pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja has been included in the squad. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka in the two-Test series. Pacers Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Shohidul Islam have been called in Bangladesh squad.
Bangladesh squad: Mominul Haque (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, Yasir Ali, Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rejaur Rahman Raja, Shohidul Islam, Shoriful Islam (subject to fitness).
Sri Lanka Cricket team will arrive in Bangladesh on May 8.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from May 15 to May 19. The second Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from May 23 to May 27. Besides, Sri Lanka will play a two-day practice match at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground on May 10 and May 11.
The two-Test matches between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are part of ICC World Test Championship.
Sri Lanka have taken the fifth position in the points table grabbing 24 points from four matches, while Bangladesh have taken the eighth position earning 12 points from six matches.
