Bangladesh Bank (BB) Deputy Governor and Head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan on Saturday took charge as the co-chair of the Asia Pacific Group (APG) on Money Laundering.
He took the charge at the 21st annual general meeting of the APG held at Kathmandu in Nepal, said a press release.
Razee Hassan took the charge as the co-chair for 2018-2020 period to work with Australia for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
AGP is the regional organisation of the Financial Action Task Force, an international standard rating organisation for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
A total of 41 countries of the Asia Pacific region are members of the group.
