B’baria train crash death toll now 18

Two persons, who were injured when an intercity train rammed into another in Brahmanbaria’s Kasba on November 12, died in Dhaka and Sylhet in the wee hours of Sunday night, rising the death toll to 18.
The fresh deceased Tara Horizon, 45, wife of Shankar Horizon of Maizdi Horizon Colony in Noakhali and Dholai Miah, 65, of Bublakhal area of Habiganj Sadar upazila.
Among the victims, Tara Horizon died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, our
Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting Shyamal Kanti Das, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akhaura Railway Police Station.
Besides, Dholai Miah succumbed at intensive care unit (ICU) of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting a physician.
Dholai Miah suffered severe injuries in his head and other parts of his body, said Dr Abul Kalam Azad, deputy director of the hospital.
Sixteen people were killed and 73 injured as Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita Express from Chattogram rammed Chattogram-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet at Mondobhag Railway Station in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria on November 12.
