BB unveils logo for first ever banking fair

Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Saturday unveiled the logo of the country’s first ever banking fair to be held on November 24-28 at the Bangla Academy premises in the capital city.
The central bank is organising the weeklong “Bangladesh Banking Fair 2015” with the theme: “To Build a Banking Nation”, general manager of the governor secretariat AFM Asaduzzaman said.
Quoting Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, Asaduzzaman said the governor called upon all banks, financial institutions and related organisations to make the fair a success.
Dr Rahman, who is now on a visit to the United States, also urged the law enforcing agencies for taking proper security measures so people from all walks of life could participate in the unique fair for the country’s financial sector.
Asaduzzaman said the governor also advised all banks and financial institutions for taking necessary measures so people from home and abroad, especially the Bangladeshis leaving overseas could get all information about the fair through internet.
He said the fair would be a part of the BB’s continuous endevour in promoting banking activities towards achieving sustainable and pro-poor growth. All banks, financial organisations and other related institutions would showcase their services and the development that happened in the country’s banking sectors in the recent years.
The objectives of the fair include raising public awareness about banking products and services, expanding the financial literacy programme of BB at national level, promoting banking sector, its products and services, presenting the banks as service providers to the customers, encouraging the customers optimizing the usage of technology in the banking sector, ensuring broadened financial inclusion, bringing the young and the youths under banking services and extending the banking services and products to the people’s doorstep.
On the sidelines of the fair, seminar, workshop, roundtable discussions, debate competition and cultural programmes will be arranged every day.
