Bangladesh Bank (BB) will announce its agriculture and rural credit policy today (Wednesday) for the current financial year 2018-19 (FY19).
Deputy Governor of the central bank SM Moniruzzaman will announce the policy at a press conference at the BB’s headquarters in the city, said a press release.
In 2017-18 fiscal, the agriculture loan disbursement target was Taka 20,400 crore, which was raised by 16.24 percent from the previous 2016-17 fiscal target of Taka 17,550 crore.
According to the available data of the central bank, specialized, state-owned and private commercial banks, including foreign commercial banks operating in the country, disbursed 96.20 percent agriculture and non-farm rural credit in past 11 months of FY18.
