BB Governor off to Lima for WB, IMF meeting

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman left Dhaka for Lima Sunday night to attend the Annual Meetings of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The three-day annual conference is scheduled to be held at Lima Convention Center in the capital of Peru from October 9.
Dr Atiur will also participate in a series of high-level meetings with his counterparts and Commonwealth senior officials.
The central bank chief is also scheduled to deliver speeches and present papers at different discussions, which will be held prior to the conference from October 6-7.
Besides, the BB Governor will take part the Vulnerable Twenty Group of Ministers of Finance, generally known as V20 Groups of Ministers of Finance, of the CVF (Climate Vulnerable Forum) on October 8.
Later on the same day, he will also attend the 31st SAARC FINANCE Group meeting.
The BB Governor is expected to return home on October 14 after deliberation of his speech on Game Changer: Technology and Sustainable Growth at Hotel Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
