Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Fazle Kabir on Thusday underscored the need for ensuring quality training for bankers to mitigate the risks of the banking sector.
“Quality training will help ease the risks of the banking sector. It will also promote professionalism among the bankers,” he said while handing over the certificates of a five-day training course at the central bank headquarters in the city, said a press release.
Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and Banking Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIIN) jointly organised the training course on “Risk based Internal Audit”. A total of 23 Nepalese bankers participated in the training course.
Fazle Kabir said the training course has created an opportunity to exchange banking related experiences between the two countries.
He hoped that BIBM and BFIIN will arrange more training programmes in Dhaka and Kathmandu.
