Fazle Kabir, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country on Wednesday afternoon in a SME (small and medium enterprise) loan distribution ceremony asked to make at least one female entrepreneur at every branch of scheduled bank.
He was attending as Chief Guest in the exchange of views programme of bankers and SME entrepreneurs and loan distribution ceremony at Barisal Club auditorium of the city.
The BB governor said many schedule banks still lacking behind the target in distributing SME loans. This situation should be developed. Maintaining proper ratio every branch of schedule bank should create at least one female entrepreneur by distributing SME loans as per direction of the central bank.
The BB governor also called the bakers of the region to take active role in developing socio-economic conditions of the southern region.
To make efforts of the government successful in achieving targets of seventh five-year plan by making the country free from hunger and poverty within 2021 and women empowerment and SDG, the BB governor also asked the bankers to play more active role.
