Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Monday has extended the deadline for execution of the stimulus package for the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) by two months.
As per decision, the deadline for execution of the stimulus package for CMSMEs is now October 31.The previous deadline was August 31.
The decision was taken at an online meeting with top executives of 15 banks and four non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), with Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Fazle Kabir in the chair, officials said.
“We’ve extended the deadline in line with the stakeholders’ requirements,” a BB senior official told the correspondent after the meeting.
Earlier on July 02, the central bank asked all banks to take effective measures for implementing the stimulus packages including the CMSME sector within next month.
The banks have also been asked to implement the lion’s share of the stimulus packages within July and the remaining portion by August, 2020.
