Business Desk :
Bangladesh Bank has taken two key decisions that may help the stock market take a turnaround from continuous fall for days.
From now and on, the central bank will count banks’ investments in stocks based on cost price from present market price.
The decision was made at a meeting between the central bank and the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Tuesday.
Another major decision the BB took was on the investments in bonds by banks. Investments of banks and non-bank financial institutions in bonds will not be considered as investments in stocks, according to the BB decision.
