The swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected executive council of Baufal Press Club 2021 of Patuakhali was held at the Press Club premises at Kundapatti in the upazila on Wednesday.
Baufal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zakir Hossain was present as the chief guest at 10 am and administered oath to the newly elected 13-member executive council officials.
Veteran journalist Professor Amirul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Moniruzzaman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anichur Rahman Bali, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Naz spoke as special guests at the function presided over by the outgoing President of the Press Club Harun-or- Rashid Khan and conducted by the newly elected General Secretary Ahiduzzaman Duke.
Among others, journalist ABM Mizanur Rahman, newly-elected president Kamruzzaman Bachchu, newly-elected vice-president Prof Md Manzur Morshed, journalist Atul Chandra Pal, journalist Jitendra Nath Roy, journalist Abul Bashar and others also spoke. It may be mentioned that on December 26, a three-member election commission comprising Upazila Social Service Officer Moniruzzaman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anichur Rahman Bali and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Nazmul Haque conducted the election under the supervision of Baufal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zakir Hossain.
