BCL's factional clashes: BAU students asked to vacate dorms

The authority of Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU) on Wednesday asked the students to vacate their dormitories following factional clashes on Tuesday night between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League on the campus.
All students have been directed to leave their halls by Wednesday.
The administration took the decision at an emergency meeting. The BAU Proctor Professor AKM Jakir Hossain said the university was closed on July 7, but the dormitories were open till Saturday. “We took the decision to vacate the halls to avert any untoward incident,” he said.
Supporters of BAU unit BCL president and district unit BCL president locked in a series of clashes from Tuesday evening till 11:30pm on the BAU campus that left six leaders and activists injured.
BAU unit BCL General Secretary Saiful and Organizing Secretary Mahir Shahriar were among the injured. They were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment. Additional police have been deployed on the campus.
