Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship OF Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the first season of “Battle of Startups” at the 71 Milonayoton of university recently.
The event was held in association with Global Entrepreneurship Network- Bangladesh, Startup Grind U, Global Entrepreneurship Week, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited and AX Production. Mohammad Shibli Shahriar, Head, Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (DIE), DIU inaugurated the program where Mohammad Gazi Tauhidur Rahman (Founder and Managing Director of FM Plastics Ltd) was present as the guest of Honour. A brief synopsis of the program was given by Md. Asif Iqbal, lecturer, DIE. Beauty Akter, Lecturer, DIE has moderated the whole event. The competition was judged by SN Azad, Adjunct Faculty of DIE; and Md. AnowarJahid, Associate, VC and PE of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd.
Battle of Startup is a platform to connect the startups to the stakeholders and startup ecosystems where only the startups of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, DIU can pitch and showcase their products/ services. On this day, 15 startups of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, DIU pitched and demonstrated their products/ services.
This is more than a pitching competition. “DIU has initiated many programs to create entrepreneurs and this program is an excellent program for youths in our country,” said Mohammad Gazi Tauhidur Rahman. He shared his journey from a banker to an entrepreneur to the audience. This inspires the new startups a lot to do something on their own. At the end of the program, he visited the stall and enlightened them with his knowledge.
