The owners of battery run rickshaws in the port city demanded withdrawal of restrictions over plying in city areas immediately otherwise they will enforce tougher movement .
This warning was announced at the human chain formed in front of Chittagong Press Club yesterday afternoon as arranged by the Chittagong Battery Run Rickshaw Owners league .
City general secretary of Jatiya Sramik League Nurul Islam presided over the human chain.
The speakers in the human chain said a major portion of rickshaw drivers run their family expenses by driving the battery run rickshaws and these beneficiaries will have to face miseries by the discretionary decision of the authority.
About one lack family members of these rickshaw drivers will have to pass the days with fasting .
The human chain was told that about 50 thousand auto-rickshaw drivers, owners urged the concerned authority to permit the plying of battery- run rickshaws with issuing proper license so as the govt will earn huge amount of taxes from this sector.
