Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) and Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF) accorded reception to the winners of BASIS Outsourcing Award 2014 at DIU auditorium in the city on Saturday.
State Minister for IT, Zuniad Ahmed Palak, MP, Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, Professor and Head, Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) and Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group were present in the program as guests.
Presided over by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Executive Director of DIIT, the welcome address was delivered by Muhammad Khan, President, Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Post, Telecommunication and ICT said, Prospective and talent young generation will transform labour oriented economics of Bangladesh into talent and knowledge based economics.
He said, the goal of the present government is to build knowledge and technology based Digital Bangladesh and to implement this goal government has under taken long term “Vision 2021”.
He said, 70 per cent of our total populations are youth who are below 35 years and have strong potentiality and prosperity and present government is planning and working hard to prepare this young generation as per their need to face the challenges of 21st century and build self reliant Bangladesh.
He said, Optical Fiber Connection and high speed internet service will be ensured in district level within one year, Upazilla level within two years and Union level within four years of the country. Moreover, For development of ICT sector, 3-G connection will be ensured all over the country within one year and Bangladesh will be connected with Second Sub Marine Cable within the year 2016. 55000 skilled Free Lancer ICT professional will be developed under the project ” Earning and Learning” taken by the government.
Admiring our talented youth Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal said, In comparison to the youths of first world or developed countries, Our youths are very energetic, talent, hard working and as well as patriot.
But, our youths are not inspired or patronized like them. If we could patronize or inspire them properly, they can play vital role for nation building activities. He said, a misinformation/ conception prevails in our society that Only CSE graduates have the capability for doing outsourcing work. Studying in Multi-disciplinary subjects students also can do the outsourcing joining in groups.
He also said, the contribution of labour forces is still visible in the development of Bangladesh, but when our educated young generation will begin to contribute to the development of the country, the whole Bangladesh will turn into a prosperous, self reliant and beautiful Bangladesh very soon.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group said, outsourcing could contribute a lot for economic development of the country. To inspire the free lancers engaged in outsourcing he announced to introduce full furnished start up center and business incubator in the university premises. He also said, Daffodil Institute of IT is going to organize an “Outsourcing Summit” where 10 foreign countries will took part.
