Sabrina Sobhan the wife of Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) and four other members of his family left the country on a chartered flight on Thursday night.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka confirmed the matter. He said, “A special flight carrying them left for Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai at 8:55pm.
Mafidur Rahman, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), said they were allowed to leave after showing a clearance certificate obtained from the Special Branch of police, as a travel ban had been imposed on one of their family members. That security and immigration officials were vigilant to prevent Sayem Sobhan Anvir from leaving the country, he added.
According to a top immigration official, Sabrina Sobhan, Ahmed Walid Sobhan, Arisha Afroz Sobhan, Yasha Sobhan, Rania Afroz Sobhan, Diana Hernandez Kakanando, Mohammad Quader Mir and Hosneara Khatun were on the flight.
