Bashundhara Kings continued their utter dominance in the domestic football arena by clinching the Women’s Football League with a match to spare.
Star studded Bashundhara Kings celebrated their “Women’s Football League’ 2020-21” crown with an emphatic 18-0 goals victory over Jamalpur Kacharipara Akadash at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on saturday.
Bashundhara needed only one point from their last two matches. The holders went to the field with high confidence that they would easily win against Jamalpur Kacharipara. That’s why the team came to the field in preparation to celebrate the title.
They have secured full 39 points from straight 13 matches and maintained their all win record in the league as the only team.
Soon after the final whistle, all the players and officials of the Kings started victory celebration in the field wearing fresh champions jersey.
The winners’ clearly dominated the proceeding by taking 7-0 lead at the breather while the remaining eleven goals came in the second half.
The day’s match also featured three hattricks by Krishna Rani Sarkar, Shamsunnahar Junior and Sabina Khatun.
Krishna scored five, Shamsunnahar Junior four, Sabina three, Sanjida Khatun two while Monika, Anai and Sumaiya scored one each for the champions.
The remaining one was a suicidal goal scored by Kamrunnahar.
With the day’s victory, Jamalpur extended their lead to 39 points from 13 matches while Jamalpur Kacharipara remained at their previous credit of 13 points playing the same number of matches.
Bashundhara will play their last match of the league against Nasrin Sports Academy while Jamalpur Kacharipara meet Suddopuskorini Jubo Sporting Club scheduled to be held on Monday (July 19) at the same venue.
On other hand, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan College SC finished league runners up, also one match spare, crushing Suddopuskorini Jubo SC by 9-0 goals at the same venue on Saturday .
They collecting 33 points from 13 league encounters to be the league runners up.
