Holders Bashundhara Kings lost valuable point as they were forced to play a 1-1 goal draw by Bangladesh Police Football Club (FC) in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football held on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).
With this outcome, Bashundhara moved up their tally with four points from two matches while Police FC opened their account with one point playing the same number of matches.
The first half saw both the teams launched attacks and counter attacks but failed to take the lead.
After the barren first half, Sabuz however finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for the holders in the 53rd minute while Babul restored the parity for Police in the 72nd minute of the match.
In the remaining proceeding, both the teams created some scoring chances but failed to convert those into goal lack of proper finishing.
Bangladesh Police Football Club will play their next match against Uttar Baridhara Club on February 24 while Banshudhara Kings meet Brothers Union Club on February 25. Both the matches will be held at BNS.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings earned a solitary goal victory over Uttar Baridhara Club while Police FC suffered a 2-0 goal defeat to Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their respective league opening matches.
Meanwhile, Abahani Limited will play their second league match against Brothers Union Club scheduled to be held on Saturday (February 22) at BNS at 6.30 pm.
