Holders Bashundhara Kings made a 1-1 draw with Dhaka Abahani Limited in their second leg match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. It was the last match of this year’s BPL Football.
Unbeaten champions Basnhundhara Kings bagged 65 points from 24 matches, while Dhaka Abahani Limited finished third securing 47 points from as many matches. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited became runners-up collecting 52 points from the same number of outings.
Bashundhra defeated Dhaka Abahani Limited by 4-1 goals in their first leg match.


Dhaka Abahani Limited had a 1-0 lead by an own goal by Bashundhara’s defender Topu Barman in the 28th minute of the play.
Topu Barman equalized the margin by a header using a free-kick of his Brazilian teammate Robson in the 37th minute of the game.
Earlier, Dhaka Abahani’s Nigerian recruit Sunday Chizoba’s header went over the crosspiece in the 34th minute of the clash. Chizoba got the ball on his way from a free-kick of his Brazilian teammate Raphael.
Abahani goalie Sohel saved his team from danger by gripping the ball of Bishwanath’s header in the 45th minute of the match.
Sohel gripped the forceful shot of Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Jonathon just before the lemon-break.
Sunday Chizoba of Dhaka Abahani missed an opportunity in the 52nd minute of the clash.
Bashundhara custodian Zico saved his team from conceding another goal when Sunday Chizoba’s header fisted by Zico in the 85th minute of the match.
