Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief items among distressed people and study materials among students at Tungipara and Kotalipara in Gopalganj on Sunday.
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited arranged distribution of the relief and study accessories with assistance of Bashundhara Group, marking the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
A number of 6,000 jobless families got relief while 1,000 students received education materials at a programme in Kotalipara Shilpakala Academy premises.
Upazila Awami League president Bhabendranath Biswas, general secretary Sheikh Ainal Hossain, upazila parishad chairman Bimal Krishna Biswas, mayor Kamal Hossain Sheikh, and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd director Sheikh Saleh Jaman Selim spoke on the occasion.
Besides, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd directors Mohammed Golam and Maksudur Rahman and local Awami League leaders and public representatives were present on the occasion.
