BSS, Dhaka :
Holders Bashundhara Kings take on Chattogram Abahani Limited in one of the sixth round matches of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football scheduled to be held today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).
The match kicks off at 3.30 pm.
Unbeatable Bashundhara Kings already dominate the league table maintaining their all-win run in the league with 15 points from five matches while the port city team Chattogram Abahani Limited are struggling with seven points playing the same number of matches.
Chattogram Abahani, currently stand at seventh position in their points table, lost valuable points by playing to a 1-1 goal draw with Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their previous match and they must be looking forward to improve their position by snatching the full three points against Bashundhara Kings though it will not be an easy task for Abahani’s coach Maruful Haque’s men.
Chattogram Abahani earlier beat Saif Sporting Club and Arambagh Krira Sangha both by identical margin of 1-0 goal and lost to Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club 1-2 and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 0-1.
On the other hand, indomitable Bashundhara Kings have forgotten how to lose a match. The star-studded side of the BPL Bashundhara proved that they are the best side in the league in pen and paper and their aim must be to retain the league title this time as well.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made a winning start in the league beating Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-0 goals, defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in the second match, edged past Brothers Union Club by 1-0 goal in the third match, blanked old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 3-0 goals in the fourth match and dumped Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited 4-1 in the fifth match.
In the day’s other match of the fixture, Abahani Limited, Dhaka met Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra that began at 6 pm at the same venue.
Abahani Limited currently stand at fourth position with 11 points from five matches while Muktijoddha Sangsad KC placed at tenth position with three points from four matches.
