With this win, Bashundhara Kings took
unassailable lead in the 13-team table with 59 points from 22 matches ensuring their maiden league title in debut season, emulating Sheikh Jamal’s feat in their debut season in 2010.
Six times league champions Abahani bagged 55 points from 23 matches, with only one game in hand.
Bashundhara Kings have been in fantastic form since the start of the 11th edition of the league in January, having posted 19 wins – 14 of those in a row – along with only one draw. However, their 20-match unbeaten run was ended by Sheikh Russel in their 21st match.
