Bashundhara Kings beat Dhaka Abahani Limited by 3-2 goals in their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka on Monday.
Bashundhara Kings grabbed 54 points from 21 matches, while Dhaka Abahani Limited collected 44 points from as many outings.
Bashundhara Kings emerged the champions of this year’s BPL Football when they had two matches in their hand. Bashundhara Kings won the championship title for the consecutive third time.
On the other hand, Dhaka Abahani Limited became runners-up of this year’s BPL Football.
The first half was locked 1-1.
Bashundhara’s Gambian recruit Nuha Marong put his team ahead in the 20th minute of the play.
Rakib Hossain of Dhaka Abahani Limited equalized the margin by an angular shot in the injury time of the first half.
Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson Robinho doubled the margin by an angular shot in the 71st minute of the game.
Robson Robinho made it 3-1 in the injury time of the second half.
Dhaka Abahani’s Brazilian recruit Raphael Augusto reduced the margin in the injury time of the second half.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made a 2-2 draw with Dhaka Abahani Limited in their first round match at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet on April 3.
Chittagong Abahani Limited’s Nigerian recruit Peter Thankgod was the highest scorer of this year’s BPL Football with 18 goals. But Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson Robinho is now jointly the highest scorer with Peter Thankgod. Robinho has one match in his hand.
On the other hand, Peter Thankgod has two matches in his hand.
So, the soccer lovers of the country are waiting to see who will be the highest scorer of this year’s BPL Football.
