Bashundhara Kings beat Uttar Baridhara Club by a solitary goal in the their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Monday.
Bashundhara’s Bosnian recruit Stojan Vranjes put his team ahead by using a short pass of his teammate Tawhidul Sabuz in the 27th minute of the play. Sabuz got the ball on his way from a spectacular pass of his teammate Mohammad Ibrahim.
Uttar Baridhara’s Arif got the ball in the danger zone of Bashundhara but his shot was cleared by a Bashundhara defender in the third minute of the play.
Bashundhara got the first corner in the 10th minute. But Stojan’s header went away which he got on his way from the corner of his Brazilian teammate Robinho.
Bashundhara got the easiest chance in the 42nd minute. But Ibrahim’s header went wide which he got on his way from a right-side cross of his Iranian teammate Khaled Shafei.
After the intervals, Robinho’s spot-kick was cleared by a defender of Uttar Baridhara but Robinho got the ball again. Robinho struck again but his shot was gripped by Uttar Baridhara goalie Saiful in the 54th minute.
Robinho’s power-packed long-range shot was gripped by Uttar Baridhara custodian Saiful in the 57th minute of the game.
In the 89th minute of the match, Obidur Nawab got the ball from his teammate Robinho but Nawab failed to put the ball into the net from a close distance. Thus, Bashundhara Kings had to leave the field with a lone-goal victory.
