Today (November 18) is the 81st birthday of noted singer Bashir Ahmed. Like previous years, to mark the day, singer’s daughter Homaira Bashir and son Raja Bashir organise a special programme online. Last year they introduced Bashir Ahmed Sommanona Padak on the birthday of their father.
This year the awards will be given to six persons in six categories.
Gazi Mazharul Anwar (lyricist), Sujeyo Shyam (music composer), Milon Bhattacharya (instrumental artiste), Ustad Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury (singer), Liaquat Ali Lucky (cultural personality) and Noim Nizam (journalist) will receive the awards.
Homaira Bashir said, “Due to Corona pandemic, the awards have already sent to the awardees of this year. Now the formal programme will be held online for the ongoing pandemic. Bappa Mazumder, Dithi Anwar, Raja Bashir, Yousuf Ahmed Khan, Sohel Mehedi, Ibrahim Khalil, Mesbah Ahmed and I will render songs in the programme. Three music videos, which music was composed by my father, will also be released on YouTube channel on the occasion. Today viewers can enjoy the event on the page of Sargam Sound Station at 8:00pm.”
