The Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) launched its official web portal to ensure the flow of information among concerned parties more easily.
The association launched the web titled www.barvida.com.bd on Sunday at a ceremony at BARVIDA office with Abdul Haque, the present and founding president of the association in the chair.
The BARVIDA leaders hoped that the web portal will be a dynamic platform for all the members, the customers and concerned parties to provide all necessary information of country’s reconditioned vehicle sector.
From now on the upcoming members could apply for membership online through the portal, BARVIDA said in a media statement on Monday.
BARVIDA has been contributing lion’s share in the country’s transport sector by supplying vehicles over more than three decades, and currently there are around 900 enterprises under the BARVIDA membership in operations across the country.
The total investment in this sector is Tk 200 billion.
The enlisted BARVIDA member companies pay few million taka as revenue to the government annually while more than 0.1 million people are employed in this sector directly or indirectly.
BARVIDA Secretary General Mohammed Shahidul Islam, vice presidents SM Anowar Sadat, Mohd Saiful Islam Samrat and Md Jasim Uddin Mintu and other executive members of the association were present at the ceremony.
