Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)’s former mayor Sayeed Khokon holds present mayor Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh responsible for filing a case against him by Fulbaria City Super Market president Delwar Hossain.
Regarding the case, Sayeed Khokon said on Tuesday: “All say that present mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh is committing dirty things through Delwar Hossain Delu. It has tarnished the image of him and his party,” says press release sent to the media by Sayeed Khokon’s PRO Habibul Islam Sumon.
Earlier, Delwar Hossain filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam’s court on Tuesday alleging misappropriation of Tk 34 crore for allocating shops at Fulbaria City Super Market in Gulistan violating its design.
Other six accused are DSCC’s former chief revenue officer Yusuf Ali Sardar, former deputy assistant engineer Mazed, Kamrul Hasan, Helena Akter, Atiqur Rahman and Walid.
There were 911 shops built at three blocks at at the DSCC owned Fulbaria City Super Market. The DSCC officials launched a drive to demolish the shops on December 8 last. The demolition drive began following repeated clashes with the shop owners and employees. During the drive, some 300 shops were demolished.
